Excellent summary of what's happening with AI. Interesting that the more intelligent the AI, the more it hallucinates. I tend to be on the end of the spectrum that dismissesAI capabilities, but AI does seem to invent "neural paths" that surprise its creators, and express human emotion or human behavior such as bullshitting or evading or outright lying. If intelligence is ultimately non-physical, then it could occupy an AI just as easily as a biological body. AI may turn out to be a new horizon in cosnciousness studies.
It seems to me The electricity needed to power these "𝑐𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑠𝑦 𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑛 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑠" should be the main red flag to its clumsy human minded creators, but they barrel ahead planning their huge noise polluting "data centers" with no regard to humanity.
If ever anything needed killing in the crib it's AI.
Great article! The graphs were helpful in understanding the percentages of accuracy and bull shit and hallucinations. 57% accuracy was still a failing grade on tests when I was in school.
Another huge topic that needs to be addressed is copy right violations by AI's. If the owners of the copyrights saw the violations who would they sue? The AI itself or the company that created and rained the AI. I think the settlements could be in the trillion of dollars.
I just watched a YouTube video by Anastasi In Tech which could solve the problem of the huge data centers which I always thought would be like the change from huge room sized computers of the 1950s to the desktop PCs of the 1980s on to the most recent laptops. She shows how data centers could become 1000 times smaller and even the size of a large refrigerator. Of course the video does not address the issues of AIs in your article. But it is worth a look. I still believe in the law of unintended consequences, which is why I keep in touch with all these developments.

I’m more concerned about the people driving the boat than the boat itself. Read another article this week that to me, showcased the same underlying principle. The mindset of the superior intellectual types in different areas, whether government, medical, technology, etc. seems to be “You can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs! Full speed ahead!” They remain above whatever negative fallout may come, so they have no trouble with we below becoming the broken eggs.

Good article.
Appreciate it, Ken!

Thank you for all you do, Joe. ♡
